FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS - The Arkansas Razorbacks spent Thursday workouts preparing for a scrimmage on Saturday to cap their second week of preseason practice.
Coach Houston Nutt said he was impressed with the secondary, though he said players overall seemed tired going into Thursday's practice, which included an indoor and an outdoor session.

``We had to crank them up, but once we got going we had a good practice,'' Nutt said.

He said he has seen solid improvement in Tony Bua, Vickiel Vaughn and Lerinezo Robinson.

Nutt said he wants to see several players step up and gain confidence before the regular season starts.

``I want to see the Tony Ugohs, Titus Peebles, Chase Pressleys, Jayson Johnson and James Johnson come out,'' Nutt said. ``I want to see those guys really make a push and some positive strides.''

Nutt said quarterback Robert Johnson has a good arm, but a sore shoulder. He also said the team needs quarterback Cedric Washington on the field.

``As far as knowing when to run a post, a square, a dig or a come back, those things he knows what to do,'' Nutt said. ``It's just the putting the polish on.''

Ugoh has a sprained Achilles tendon, but Nutt hopes he will return.
Arkansas' Fan Day begins Saturday afternoon, followed by a team scrimmage at Razorback Stadium.
