Ex-MSU player, convicted drug offender charged in bust

STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI - Former Mississippi State running back Dontae Walker and a convicted drug offender were jailed on felony drug charges after authorities allegedly seized crack cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop. <br>

Walker, 23, and Shaundraaus Frazier, 25, were each charged Thursday with possession and intent to distribute marijuana and crack cocaine. <br>
<br>
Both were held in the Oktibbeha County Jail without bond pending an initial appearance in Oktibbeha County Justice Court. <br>
<br>
Walker and Frazier were stopped in their by an Oktibbeha County sheriff's deputy around 6:30 p.m. in downtown Starkville. <br>
<br>
Officials said the deputy initiated the stop on a traffic offense. <br>
<br>
Authorities searched the car and seized crack cocaine, marijuana, various drug packaging paraphernalia and about $2,000 in cash. <br>
<br>
The car also was seized. <br>
<br>
Walker ranks fifth in school history for career rushing touchdowns at Mississippi State. Walker was a starting running back for the Bulldogs last year, but left the team before the final game of the 2002 season against Mississippi. <br>
<br>
He finished his career with 22 touchdowns and 1,875 rushing yards. <br>
<br>
His best season was 2000, when he combined with Dicenzo Miller to make Mississippi State the No. 1 rushing team in the Southeastern Conference. <br>
<br>
Frazier was on probation for a drug conviction earlier this year. <br>
<br>
If convicted, Walker and Frazier each face up to 30 years in prison and fines of up to $1 million on each charge.
