ATLANTA - Derrick Wimbush ran for 157 yards, including a 55-yard scoring run that erased a 10-9 deficit, as Fort Valley State beat Morehouse College 23-10 in the season opener for both teams Saturday night. <br>

Wimbush's touchdown run came with 46 seconds left in the third quarter and Fort Valley stretched the lead on a 37-yard pass from Cecil Lester to Taqua Thrasher with 5:38 left in the game. <br>

The other FVSU scoring came on Duron Croson's 7-yard run and Andrew Jacas' 34-yard field goal. <br>

John Washington scored on a 2-yard run for Morehouse in the second quarter and Byron Archibald kicked a 25-yard field goal in the third.
