Marlins finish off sweep of Phillies

PHILADELPHIA - Mark Redman pitched his second straight complete game and Juan Encarnacion homered and drove in three runs as the Florida Marlins completed their first sweep in Philadelphia with a 6-3 win over the Phillies on Sunday.<br> <br> Juan Pierre went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Ivan Rodriguez drove in a pair for the Marlins, who swept the three-game series and have won five of six overall.<br> <br> Redman (7-3) allowed seven hits in his third complete game this season, striking out six and walking one. He threw a five-hitter to beat Atlanta 6-3 in his previous start June 30.<br> <br> Florida&#39;s Jack McKeon got his 800th career victory, becoming the 63rd manager to reach the milestone.<br> <br> Jim Thome and David Bell homered for the Phillies, who have lost four of five.<br> <br> Florida took a 3-0 lead in the first against Randy Wolf (9-4) capped by Encarnacion&#39;s two-run homer and prolonged by second baseman&#39;s Placido Polanco&#39;s fielding error.<br> <br> Pierre led off the game with a double and Luis Castillo put down a sacrifice bunt, but Polanco dropped the throw at first base. Rodriguez followed with a sacrifice fly. One out later, Encarnacion homered to the left-center bleachers for his 12th of the season.<br> <br> Thome&#39;s two-run shot to right field - his 22nd of the year- cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the first.<br> <br> Florida extended its lead to 6-2 in the third with consecutive RBI doubles by Castillo and Rodriguez and a sacrifice fly by Encarnacion.<br> <br> Bell&#39;s fourth homer of the season was a solo shot in the fourth.<br> <br> Wolf allowed six runs - four earned - on five hits and had his personal four-game winning streak snapped.<br> <br> Redman escaped his toughest jam in the sixth. With two runners in scoring position and one out, he got Pat Burrell on an infield popup and Bell on a flyball, ending the threat.<br> <br> NOTES: Florida has won a franchise-best five straight games over Philadelphia. ... Pierre stole his major league-leading 40th base, his third straight season with 40 or more. ... The Marlins are 13-5 in their last 18 road games. The team starts a three-game series in Chicago on Monday. ... The Phillies held their annual Father/Children baseball game before the start. Kevin Millwood Jr., 2, showed potential with the bat, but ran toward third base after hitting the ball. ... Wolf hadn&#39;t lost since May 27. ... Florida has five series sweeps this season. ... The Marlins are 27-14 since May 23, the best record in the NL East. ... McKeon is 30-21 since taking over the Marlins on May 11. His 300th and 500th career wins also were against Philadelphia.
