Authorities release name in fatal Friday wreck

CUMMING - Forsyth County authorities Wednesday released the name of the man killed in a traffic accident during stormy weather last Friday afternoon.

Investigators said Prashanth Phalakshan, 33, died when his car slid into the northbound lanes of McGinnis Ferry Road near McFarland Road and hit an oncoming car. He was thrown from the vehicle.

Phalakshan was on a temporary visa working for Siemans as an engineer. He was scheduled to return to India at the end of the month. Investigators blame the wreck on wet roads and stormy weather.
