Nicolas' hit snapped a 4-4 tie before a record crowd of 1,811 at Vanderbilt's Hawkins Field. <br>

Warner Jones drove in two other runs for Vanderbilt (25-26, 12-16 Southeastern Conference) with a single in the first and a sacrifice fly in the third. <br>

Brian Cleveland went 2-for-3 for Tennessee (31-22, 13-15) and had an RBI. <br>
