Burk appealing after court rejects protest plan

AUGUSTA - Martha Burk has criticized a judge who barred her group from protesting the Masters at the front gate of Augusta National Golf Club. <br> <br> Burk - the head of National Council of Women&#39;s Organizations said ``party revelers are taking precedence over legitimate protesters.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Burk wants Augusta National to admit its first female member. She plans to appeal U.S. District Judge Dudley Bowen Junior&#39;s ruling that her group be restricted to a site a half-mile away. <br> <br> Augusta Sheriff Ronald Strength says safety concerns at the main entrance of club justify the move. <br> <br> Burk and the Georgia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union will take their case to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. <br> <br> But time is short. The Masters begins Thursday.
