ATLANTA - Delta Air Lines has begun a weeklong test to see whether coach passengers will pay extra for in-flight food.
The test, which ends Saturday, will be on flights between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which normally don't serve food.
Items for sale include Mrs. Fields cookies, Entenmann's cinnamon rolls and Pizzario Uno sandwiches, priced from two to seven dollars.
Last week, the Atlanta-based carrier announced plans to charge passengers for ``premium-branded food'' on its new low-fare subsidiary, Song. But it also said Monday it will consider the idea for other flights.
America West and Northwest have also tested similar ideas in the past month.
