Britt, of Fayetteville, N.C., said a motorist cut him off. But investigators in Georgia said he fell asleep while driving.
If Britt completes his probation without incident he won't have a criminal record because he entered his plea as a first offender, said his attorney, Clyde Urquhart. Britt still faces several civil cases in North Carolina.
Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett also fined Britt $1,000 and banned him from driving a commercial vehicle in Georgia for 10 years. He ordered Britt to perform 80 hours of community service.
