<p>Military installations in Georgia and their key missions:</p><p>___</p><p>Navy Supply Corps School (Athens) _ Provides logistics training in the area of supply, transportation and maintenance for Department of Defense and international personnel. More than 4,000 students attend each year, in addition those who train through the schools distance learning facility.</p><p>___</p><p>U.S. Army Infantry Center and Fort Benning (Columbus) _ Home of the U.S. Army infantry, airborne and ranger schools that train more than 40,000 students annually. Its the base for the 75th Ranger Regiment, 3rd Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division (mechanized) and the 36th Engineer Group (combat).</p><p>___</p><p>Robins Air Force Base (Warner Robins) _ Site of Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, the largest industrial complex in Georgia. Provides worldwide logistics management, engineering and depot maintenance for the F-15, C-130 and C-5 aircraft, as well as all Air Force helicopters, special operations aircraft and general purpose computers. Tenants include headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command, and the 116h Air Control Wing (J-STARS) combining active, reserve and Georgia Air National Guard personnel in one unit.</p><p>___</p><p>Naval Submarine Base (Kings Bay) _ Home port for eight Trident II ballistic missile submarines of the Atlantic strategic fleet. Conducts submarine patrol operations, performs repair and refit, provides crew proficiency training and is the site for trident missile production.</p><p>___</p><p>Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield (Hinesville and Savannah) _ The combined complex is the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi and serves as the power projection platform for the 3rd Infantry division (mechanized). The divisions mission is to deploy by air, land and sea to conduct mobile, combined arms operations worldwide.</p><p>___</p><p>Fort McPherson and Fort Gillem (Atlanta and Forest Park) _ Fort McPherson is the home of U.S. Army Forces Command, which is responsible for the training and deployment of 760,000 active, reserve and National Guard soldiers. Fort Gillem is home to a wide variety of tenant units, including 1st U.S. Army, 2nd Recruiting Brigade and the Armys only criminal investigation laboratory.</p><p>___</p><p>U.S. Army Signal School and Fort Gordon (Augusta) _ Provides training at the U.S. Army Signal School, the Joint Service Regional Signal Intelligence Operations Center and the U.S. Army Computer Science School. A base for the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade and home of Eisenhower Army Medical Center.</p><p>___</p><p>Naval Air Station - Atlanta (Marietta) _ Provides readiness training for active duty and selected reserve Navy and Marine personnel. A base for Carrier Air Wing 20, and Marine Aircraft Group 42. Supports six squadrons of strike, attack, logistics support, airborne early warning aircraft and an air defense battalion.</p><p>___</p><p>Marine Corps Logistics Base (Albany) _ Home of the Marine Corps Logistics Command headquarters for worldwide operations. Provides logistical support for the Marine Corps maritime pre-positioning ships and the Norway geo-positioning programs that support rapid response contingency operations.</p><p>___</p><p>Moody Air Force Base (Valdosta) _ Currently the force projection platform for the 347th Rescue Wing, whose mission is to conduct combat search and rescue operations worldwide. The 347th is equipped with C-130 cargo aircraft and HH-60 helicopters for search and rescue missions. In addition, Moody now conducts undergraduate pilot training.</p><p>___</p><p>Dobbins Air Reserve Base (Marietta) _ Reserve recruiting, training and support are key activities. The base provides facilities to Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Army National Guard, Army Reserve and Navy and Marine Corps Reserve units. The 94th Airlift Wing and headquarters of the 22nd Air Force are the major units.
