ATLANTA - Atlanta Thrashers All-Star Dany Heatley plans to meet with reporters at a news conference on Friday, where he will make his first public comments since the car wreck that killed teammate Dan Snyder.
Also, the team said Heatley is scheduled to skate Wednesday for the first time during his rehab from knee surgery. A similar session was canceled last week after his knee was too sore following a workout.
Heatley had surgery in October on a broken jaw and two torn knee ligaments. He's been out all season and will skate alone at the Thrashers' headquarters in suburban Atlanta.
Southeast Division-leading Atlanta hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night.
Atlanta expects Heatley to return this season, if his legal problems allow it. He was charged with vehicular homicide after Snyder died from head injuries in a September 29th crash in Buckhead.
