Two charged in shooting of Georgia bank teller arrested in Miami

<p>FBI agents and police expected Monday to positively identify two men arrested in the fatal shooting of a Georgia bank employee.</p><p>Marcellus Levan Henderson, 21, and Terron Vassell Vernon, 22, were wanted on charges of attempted robbery of a bank in Roswell, Ga., and murder in the Oct. 24 death of teller Angela Towle, the FBI said.</p><p>The two Orlando men were questioned late Sunday, police said. It was not known if they had legal representation.</p><p>They were arrested in a Miami suburb after two officers tried to stop a van in which the two men were riding, said Sgt. Glenn Lester, a county officer assigned to Palmetto Bay.</p><p>But the driver turned around and deliberately smashed head-on into another police car attempting to help the other two officers, Lester said.</p><p>The officer involved in the collision, Kathleen Eckels, 51, was treated and released from Jackson Memorial Hospital Sunday night, Miami-Dade County police spokesman Juan Del Castillo said.</p><p>One of the men and a woman who exited the van were taken to the hospital and were questioned there, police said.</p><p>Hotel employees told police that the men had been staying at a Quality Inn since at least Friday, Lester told The Miami Herald.</p><p>FBI spokeswoman Beverly Esselbach said agents believed the two suspects, who may live in the Orlando area, came to South Florida last week. The FBI and police had been staking out the hotel.</p><p>In the Georgia killing, authorities said two men were waiting outside a Bank of America as employee Towle came to open the branch in the morning. She was forced inside and shot several times.</p><p>The shooting, which was captured on security videotape, showed the killers wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.
