Man sentenced to life for toddlers Christmas Eve shaking death

<p>A man who shook a girlfriends toddler to death on Christmas Eve has been sentenced to life in prison.</p><p>A Superior Court judge sentenced Lewis Edward Turner, 24, to life for the murder of 2-year-old Victoria Grace Wilkins.</p><p>Every day I deal with the failure of our humanity and this case is no different, said Judge David Irwin. This is an unending nightmare that will never go away for anyone who is involved.</p><p>Turner took the child to Rockdale Hospital on Dec. 24, saying she started having seizures while he was giving her a bath.</p><p>Medical personnel determined the child had suffered a head injury, and she was flown to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where she later died.</p><p>The toddler had been left in Turners care by her mother, who was at work when the incident occurred.</p><p>Information from: The Rockdale Citizen</p>
