Rabun man recovering after being shot by police

By by Ken Stanford
CLAYTON - A 20-year-old Rabun County man remained hospitalized in Gainesville Wednesday after being shot by a Clayton Police officer Monday night.

GBI Agent John Cagle says Tony Albert Floyd was shot in the arm after two officers answered a domestic disturbance and he threatened them with what turned out to be a pellet rifle.

The officers have, as is the case in such instances, been placed on paid adminstrative leave pending completion of a GBI investigation into what happened.

Floyd has been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
