WINDER - In the wake of a judge's ruling this week that a Ten Commandments display at the Habersham County Courthouse must be removed, a rally is planned in Atlanta Saturday to show support for such displays.
Rev. Jody Hice of Barrow county and President of Ten Commandments-Georgia, says his group will co-sponsor the Faith and Freedom Rally at the State Capitol.
A copy of the Ten Commandments hanging in the Barrow County Courthouse is also the subject of a suit.
In announcing plans for the rally, Rev. Hice said "the people of Georgia are no longer going to silently tolerate the relentless assault on our God, our faith and our freedom by the ACLU and their accomplices on the federal bench.
"We need a new birth of freedom in America , and it will not come from judges and politicians; it will come because ordinary men and women decide that enough is enough and we want our country back!"
The rally will be held at 1:00 Saturday on the steps of the State Capitol.
