Ice block falls from heavens, hits Lawrenceville house

LAWRENCEVILLE - A piece of ice 2 feet wide fell from the sky, crashed through a family&#39;s roof and landed in the room of two sisters. <br> <br> No one was injured when the mysterious beachball-sized ice block struck at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. <br> <br> The sound was ``like a door was slammed, but 20 times louder,&#39;&#39; said Joey Woodard, 14. ``I looked around and wondered if a car hit the house.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> The ball of ice may have fallen from a passing airplane, homeowner Christine Woodard said she was told by the Federal Aviation Administration. Officials with the FAA said they are investigating. <br> <br> ``We&#39;ve heard of cases happening before, but it is very rare,&#39;&#39; FAA spokesman Christopher White said. ``A lot depends on the prevailing winds.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Rachel Smith, 23, who shares the room with her 6-year-old half-sister Barbara on weekends, spent the night at a relative&#39;s home Friday night. Barbara Woodard wasn&#39;t in the bedroom Saturday morning.
