ATLANTA - Singer Bobby Brown is out of the hospital.
He was taken to Atlanta's Grady Memorial Tuesday from DeKalb County Jail. Hospital officials have not said why he was hospitalized.

Brown - the husband of Grammy-winner Whitney Houston - had been serving an eight-day jail sentence after pleading guilty last Friday to a 1996 drunken driving charge.

He was released from jail custody earlier Wednesday under a ``good time'' policy that reduces sentences for good behavior.

Brown - who was put on two years' probation - also has been ordered to perform community service and not to drive for a year.
He was arrested November seventh on charges of possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, speeding and having no driver's license or proof of insurance. After posting bond in Atlanta, he was transferred to the neighboring DeKalb County Jail to face the older charges.
