Former firefighter gets 20 years for child molestation

FAYETTEVILLE - A former Peachtree City firefighter has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for molesting boys he supervised in a firefighting education program. <br> <br> Edward Wayne Ferguson, 39, pleaded guilty to child molestation, attempted child molestation, sexual exploitation and sexual battery. Superior Court Judge Chris Edwards also sentenced Ferguson on Monday to 10 years probation. <br> <br> Ferguson had run the Explorers program at the Peachtree City Fire Department since 1999. After a complaint by a parent last summer, sheriff&#39;s deputies searched his residence and found videotapes of Ferguson having sex with some of the boys he supervised.
