SOCIAL CIRCLE - State and federal authorities are continuing to investigate the death of more than 3,200 birds in Bartow County.

Wildlife officials are considering filing charges after the birds were found in a homeowner's yard and on a nearby farm.

Officials say the birds likely ate a chemical sprayed on corn to ward off annoying animals.

The birds were found in the town of White on January 21st. Hundreds more - including ducks, geese, red-winged blackbirds and hawks - were found Wednesday on a nearby farm.

Federal officials are involved because the bird deaths include migratory birds and because a pesticide may have been misused.
No arrests have been made.
