Mercer gets defensive in win over Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Aleem Muhammad had 19 points and four steals as Mercer held Campbell to 24 percent shooting in the second half in a 77-62 win Thursday night. <br> <br> Scott Emerson added 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Wesley Duke pulled down a game-high 11 boards as Mercer (12-5, 6-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) outrebounded Campbell 50-23. <br> <br> Lee Brooks led the Camels (4-14, 1-7) with 20 points, going 5-for-9 from 3-point range and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. With 12 points, Robby Dupre was the only other player for Campbell in double figures. <br> <br> Despite outshooting Mercer 55 percent to 43 percent in the first half, Campbell trailed 38-31 at halftime before going cold after the break. <br> <br> The Camels played sloppy defense, allowing 13 steals and turning the ball over 22 times. <br> <br> Delmar Wilson scored 14 points and Clarence Baker added 12 for the Bears.
