ATLANTA - A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey has found that about a quarter of 134 respondents saw their asthma worsen after the attacks.
The results released Thursday showed that people on the southern end of Manhattan, near the World Trade Center, were more likely to report their asthma got worse after September 11 than those who lived farther north.
The survey noted that symptoms typically worsen in the fall, so that the study can't gauge the ``absolute impact'' of the attacks.
The telephone interview of people older than 18 living south of 110th Street in Manhattan was conducted between October 16 and November 15.
