Seventh-grader suspended for bringing pellet gun on bus

LAWRENCEVILLE - A 13-year-old seventh-grader in Gwinnett County has been suspended from school after taking a pellet gun aboard a school bus. <br> <br> Another student pointed it out to the bus driver as they rode home from school on Wednesday. The bus driver called 911 after pulling over and taking the pellet gun away from the Sweetwater Middle School student. <br> <br> Police have charged the student as a juvenile with carrying a weapon on school property. <br> <br> A Gwinnett County Public Schools official said the matter will be treated seriously and a disciplinary panel will review the case within ten days. <br> <br> Pellet guns are listed in the student disciplinary handbook as items not permitted on school property.
