ATLANTA - A Rockdale County judge dismissed a lawsuit Friday by a woman seeking control of three million dollars gained from donations by people who flocked to hear of her visions of the Virgin Mary.
Rockdale Superior Court Judge Sidney Nation ruled in a 13-page-brief that Nancy Fowler could not sue Our Loving Mother's Children because she never worked for them.
In 1999, Fowler filed suit against the nonprofit group she helped form to collect from the thousands who came to her Rockdale County farm to hear messages she said she received from the Virgin Mary.
From October 1990 to May 1994, Fowler delivered messages on the 13th of each month. Then she announced that the Virgin Mary would appear with a public message only once a year on October 13.
Fowler's attorney, Elizabeth Kertscher, would not comment because she had not seen the ruling.
Nation made it clear he was skeptical about the case from the start.
He said in April he wished he could have a vision himself so he would not have to deal with the case in his courtroom.
