Legend has it that Ben Parks discovered gold in northeast Georgia when he kicked a stone in the Chestatee River during a deer hunting excursion near Dahlonega. About 180 people attended the reunion including 89-year- old Woodrow Parks of Dahlonega, Ben Parks' oldest living descendant.
