ATLANTA - Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport expects lighter traffic Wednesday on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
Officials honored the victims and heroes of the attacks with a special moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. in the airport atrium.
Airport spokeswoman Lani Thomas says fewer than 100,000 travelers are expected to fly Wednesday. That's down from the 200,000 daily travelers at Hartsfield.
However, she says the number of flights should pick up toward the end of the week and during the weekend.
