Warner Robins company fined for defrauding Air Force

MACON - A Warner Robins company, in a plea agreement with prosecutors, has been fined more than $24,000 for defrauding the U.S. Air Force out of more than $14,000. <br> <br> U.S. District Judge Wilbur D. Owens Jr. on Wednesday ordered Cobra Technologies of Georgia to pay a $10,000 fine, $400 in court fees and restitution of $14,194.40. He also placed the company on probation for five years. <br> <br> The judge could have imposed a maximum fine of $500,000. <br> <br> In the plea agreement, the U.S. Attorney&#39;s Office agreed to prosecute only the company and not to pursue criminal charges against individuals in the company. Cobra CEO Ferman Hatton pleaded guilty on the company&#39;s behalf in June. <br> <br> The company admitted that it submitted altered parts documents on a contract for tube assemblies, overcharging the Air Force by more than $14,000.
