ATLANTA - The Georgia Secretary of State has restored the names of two Clayton County Libertarians to the November ballot in General Assembly races.
State officials restored their names Thursday after ruling that the Clayton County registrar had wrongly rejected valid signatures on their petitions for ballot recognition.
The candidates are Todd King and Leo Baca. King is running for state senate and Baca is running for the state House.
The secretary of state's investigation was in response to Libertarian lawsuits filed over the rejection of three party members' petitions.
State investigators are still examining the rejection of petitions submitted by the third Libertarian, Wayne Parker.
Parker is seeking a spot on the ballot for the 11th Congressional District which covers much of west Georgia. That race has Democrat Roger Kahn and Republican Phil Gingrey on the ballot.
