Two sentenced to prison in Internet child sex cases

ATLANTA - Two metro Atlanta men have been sentenced to a total of 18.5 years in federal prison as part of a government effort to fight the growing use of computers by sex offenders who target children. <br>

David Roy McDermitt, 33, of Stockbridge, was sentenced to 14 years Friday for using a computer to persuade a 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual conduct. <br>
<br>
In U.S. District Court in Newnan, Michael L. Kile, of Newnan, was sentenced to 4.5 years after pleading guilty to knowingly receiving child pornography on the Internet. <br>

``The Internet has changed the way child molesters work,'' said Assistant U.S. Attorney E. Vaughn Dunnigan, who prosecuted both men. ``It has opened up the child pornography market. It has opened up the children available for molestation.''
