SNELLVILLE - The company that made a Snellville billboard that collapsed in August is filing for bankruptcy, an attorney for the company said.
The 35,000-pound billboard manufactured by Phoenix Structures & Service collapsed and killed three workers.
Bill Mitchell, the attorney representing Phoenix in the Snellville collapse, said he did not know when the company filed for bankruptcy.
It was not clear if Phoenix's financial problems are related to the collapse.
Phoenix, based in Athens, Tenn., took down six other billboards in Snellville after the accident.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the collapse but has not issued any findings.
