Dutton had been sought by Cherokee County authorities since Sept. 13, when a man was shot in a pickup truck police said was driven by Dutton.
The victim, ejected from the truck while it was still moving, survived and was able to talk to investigators.
Dutton is not facing charges in that case, but investigators said charges may be pending.
