Airlines cutting back on flights

Americans&#39; apparent reluctance to fly September 11 is causing airlines to cut back on flights. <br> <br> American and United -- the two biggest airlines -- are making unspecified cuts on the anniversary of the terror attacks. Delta is cutting flights for the whole work week. <br> <br> Travel agents, passengers and industry experts say fear of another attack, patriotism and remembrance all contribute to the reluctance to fly. <br> <br> A passenger at the airport in Columbus, Ohio, says September 11 is ``a national holiday now&#39;&#39; and he won&#39;t fly. <br> <br> A spokesman for the Air Transport Association says a commercial flight will be ``one of the safest places&#39;&#39; to spend the day. <br> <br> American and United have either retired or renumbered the four flights hijacked in the attacks. None will fly on the anniversary.
