CHARLESTON, S.C. - A body found in the surf on Folly Beach has been identified as a 29-year-old native Kenyan.
An FBI fingerprint check revealed that the man is Moses Mungai, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal said Friday.

His body was found July 23 in shallow water at the south end of the beach. His fingerprints were found in the FBI's national database. ``He had been arrested in the Atlanta area, but I don't know what for,'' O'Neal said.
Mungai had come to the United States a few years ago to attend Kennesaw State University in Georgia. He disappeared about three months ago, along with his roommate's car, O'Neal said.
``His cousins and his roommate had no idea where he went,'' she said.
Mungai worked temporary jobs and stayed at the Good Samaritan Mission in North Charleston until shortly before his death, O'Neal said.
O'Neal is still trying to reach Mungai's parents in Kenya, where most of his family lives. She expects to work with the family to have Mungai's body returned to Africa.
