ATLANTA - Three Republican candidates for lieutenant governor say they will require women considering abortions to be given information about other options. <br>

The candidates say they want it to be a law that women would have to be informed about alternatives to having an abortion. <br>

Al Bartell, Steve Stancil and Mike Beatty debated Friday night on statewide TV. <br>
<br>
Stancil, from Canton, and Beatty, from Jackson County, have both served in the Legislature. Bartell ran for the Public Service Commission in 2000. <br>
<br>
They are seeking the nomination in their party's August 20 primary to challenge Democratic Lieutenant Governor Mark Taylor in November. Taylor is unopposed in his party's primary.
