AUGUSTA - A gas station argument escalated to a man being shot in the head, and then the gunman unloading several more shots into the victim's chest, police said.
The victim, who was not identified, was arguing with another man at a Citgo Gas station early Sunday morning, said Richmond County Sheriff's Investigator Richard Chase.
Then the shooter pulled out a gun and shot the man in the head.
The attacker stood over the man and fired at the victim as he lay on the ground, Chase said.
The shooter was last seen running away from the crime scene. The gun used in the killing may have been a revolver because shell casings weren't found, police said.
