ATLANTA - Wayne Arnold, one of four Georgia recruits who had trouble qualifying academically, has passed an Internet-based correspondence course that reportedly fulfills his requirements for a high school diploma.
Arnold, a Berkmar High School guard who was named last season as ``Mr. Georgia Basketball,'' is expected to enroll at Georgia this week, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.
The university's compliance director, Amy Chisholm, said Monday that Arnold has met the NCAA's other academic requirements.
If he was unable to enroll, that would mean that coach Jim Harrick's entire class of recruits would be ineligible to play.
Center Larry Turner, of Milledgeville, was denied admission because of a questionable score on his ACT test, and he has since enrolled at Oklahoma. Center Julius Lamptey, of Oklahoma City, and forward Alexander Johnson, of Albany, have enrolled in prep schools.
