Disabled man appears on charges of murdering his mother

NORCROSS - A disabled man charged with murder in the stabbing and bludgeoning death of his mother last week appeared in court for the first time Saturday morning. <br> <br> Thirty-nine-year-old Victor Bruscato appeared before a magistrate judge in Gwinette County Jail. <br> <br> An Atlanta television station -- WSB-TV -- reported that Bruscato, who is mentally disabled and mentally ill, limped into the courtroom. Bandages covered what police said were knife wounds on the fingers of one hand. <br> <br> Bruscato asked the judge many questions, explaining that this was his first appearance in a courtroom. He asked about the death penalty, what ``lethal injection&#39;&#39; means, and who would represent him. <br> <br> Bruscato said, ``This is the the first felony I ever had, the first murder.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Police spokesman Ray Dunlap says Bruscato&#39;s father called police after he found his wife, Lillian Bruscato, in the kitchen of their home Thursday. <br> <br> Dunlap says the 66-year-old woman had been stabbed multiple times and bludgeoned. <br> <br> According to family members, Victor Bruscato -- who lived with his parents in Norcross -- had apparently not been taking his medication.
