ATLANTA - Polls are open across the state as voters select candidates in several hotly contested races, including two congressional districts and a Republican candidate for governor. <br>

Secretary of State Cathy Cox is predicting a low voter turnout, with only about 22 of Georgia's registered voters going to the polls. <br>

In the last gubernatorial primary four years ago, slightly less than 25 percent went to the polls. Eight years ago, the primary turnout figure was 26 percent. <br>

Polls will be open until 7 p.m. <br>

More than 3.6 million Georgians are eligible to vote in Tuesday's primaries. Under Georgia law, they may choose either a Republican or Democratic ballot.
