ATLANTA - An Atlanta police officer shot an 18-year-old man twice, including once in the temple, killing him, according to an autopsy report.
The Fulton County medical examiner's office released a summary of its report Wednesday into the death of Corey Ward.

Ward, a black teenager, was shot in July by a white plainclothes officer in Atlanta's nightclub district in Buckhead. Protesters and Ward's family members said the teen died because of racial profiling. They said there was no car theft, and the situation quickly escalated because officers didn't identify themselves.
``Clearly, this makes us cringe,'' said Markel Hutchins, National Youth Connection president and spokesman for Ward's family. ``The medical examiner is substantiating what we believe to be the truth. This young man was killed for no reason.''
Earlier police reports indicated Ward was driving a Chevy Tahoe that hit Officer Raymond Bunn, who shot him. Police have said Ward was suspected of breaking into a car and tried to run over Bunn, and that Bunn shot Ward in self-defense.

The autopsy report said the officer rolled up on the hood of the sports utility vehicle and fired two shots through the driver's side of the window, striking the teen. The second bullet grazed his chin.
Bunn was given an administrative assignment pending the investigation.
Atlanta Police Department spokesman John Quigley said the case was still open so he could not comment on the autopsy. FBI agents investigating the case also declined comment.
Five other men in the car with Ward at the time of the shooting were expected in court Sept. 15 on various charges.
