International Luge president stays the same

SAINT WOLFGANG, AUSTRIA - Germany&#39;s Joseph Fendt retained his position as president of the International Luge Federation Sunday, getting re-elected to a third, four-year term during the organization&#39;s 50th annual congress.<br> <br> Fendt -- a 1976 Olympic silver medalist in men&#39;s singles luge -- won out over Dwight Bell of Atlanta in a closed-door election. Fendt is only the second president since the federation was formed in 1957. Bert Isatitsch was the first.<br> <br> Bell -- former president of U.S.A. Luge and the United States Olympic Committee&#39;s Chef de Mission during February&#39;s Olympic Winter Games -- was seeking to become the first American to hold the position of president of an international winter sports federation.
