EAST POINT - Polcie say a motorist who fled during a traffic stop near the Atlanta airport died after an officer fired at the vehicle. <br>

Atlanta police stopped a white sport-utility vehicle around 11:15 Tuesday morning and were approaching the vehicle when it rolled back toward them. <br>

Captain Patricia Boyce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that police fired several shots into the vehicle, which then drove across a bridge over Interstate 85 and ran off the road nearby. <br>

It was not immediately clear what killed the motorist, whose name has not been released. <br>

According to WAGA-TV police tried to stop the motorist for driving erratically near Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and began chasing the vehicle when the driver did not pull over.
