ALBANY - Albany Technical College sent 15 pharmacy students home for the summer term because it couldn't find a professor to teach two required courses on the schedule.
The students were studying pharmacy technology, but the only professor quit in June and hasn't been replaced, said Albany Tech Vice President Gail Thaxton. Students were sent home Thursday after one day of summer classes.
``We held out as long as we could,'' Thaxton said, adding that the school intends to have a new teacher by the fall term.
That's too late for Sarah Knight, who planned to graduate in December and had already accepted a job beginning in January.
``This just throws all my plans out of whack,'' Knight told The Albany Herald.
