College cancels pharmacy class because of no teacher

ALBANY - Albany Technical College sent 15 pharmacy students home for the summer term because it couldn&#39;t find a professor to teach two required courses on the schedule. <br> <br> The students were studying pharmacy technology, but the only professor quit in June and hasn&#39;t been replaced, said Albany Tech Vice President Gail Thaxton. Students were sent home Thursday after one day of summer classes. <br> <br> ``We held out as long as we could,&#39;&#39; Thaxton said, adding that the school intends to have a new teacher by the fall term. <br> <br> That&#39;s too late for Sarah Knight, who planned to graduate in December and had already accepted a job beginning in January. <br> <br> ``This just throws all my plans out of whack,&#39;&#39; Knight told The Albany Herald.
