All of a sudden we are openly recognizing we have some Hispanic problems in our community. Two people are killed in a Hispanic gang-related drive-by shooting, and you would think this kind of a problem had just arrived. Gangs are not new to our area. Drive-by shootings are not new. Do you remember just a few weeks ago when two young Hispanics were found assassinated in a car in South Hall County?
Why did the Sheriff's office and local police form the Gang Task Force...how long ago, four years? How long has grafitti spoiled
But it appears to me we will not solve the problem of Hispanic gangs until we face up to the problem of illegals in our midst.
We have laws in this country that say only certain people can come into the United States legally, and only under certain conditions. For instance, if a person has a criminal record it is almost impossible for that person to get in our country legally.
We have no idea how many illegal immigrants are living in Hall County right now, but the fact is they are breaking the law. One of the favorite ploys of our liberal friends is to say they are not breaking the law; they are simply undocumented. Well, let me suggest the next time a policeman stops you to check your drivers license, and you don't have it, that you tell him he can't do anything to you because you are simply undocumented. Try it, and see how far YOU get.
If we are serious about solving the problem of Hispanic gangs, or Hispanic jurors, or whatever, then I suggest we get serious about the core problem...and THAT is the Hispanic who is breaking our laws by being in this country illegally in the first place.
