GBI investigating rape allegation at youth center

AUGUSTA - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into claims by a 15-year-old boy that he was raped at the Augusta Youth Development Campus. <br> <br> The teen says he was assaulted May 31st in a bathroom at a cottage for short-term detainees. <br> <br> In a report obtained by The Augusta Chronicle, the victim said two boys, both 15, cornered him in a bathroom stall, pushed him against the wall and held his mouth shut. <br> <br> The teen later complained to an officer that he was in pain and was bleeding. <br> <br> Department of Juvenile Justice spokeswoman Jaci Vickers said the case is being investigated by the GBI. <br> <br> The Augusta campus has been fraught with problems this year. In February, an investigation found evidence that a nurse developed an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old. The nurse later resigned. <br> <br> In March, another 15-year-old boy said he was coerced into having sex after he and another boy were caught together in a supply closet.
