Gamecocks' center fielder to enter pre-trial program

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - South Carolina center fielder and second baseman Justin Harris was accepted in a pre-trial intervention program Wednesday after being arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness earlier this week.<br> <br> School spokesman Kerry Tharp said Harris planned to fly to Omaha, Nebraska, later Wednesday to join the Gamecocks as they prepare for the College World Series.<br> <br> Harris was arrested Monday morning, hours after he scored the final run in the Gamecocks 6-4 win over Miami, to earn South Carolina&#39;s first trip to the College World Series since 1985.<br> <br> Coach Ray Tanner suspended Harris following the arrest. Harris is still under suspension and it&#39;s unclear if he will play in South Carolina&#39;s first game against Georgia Tech on Friday.
