Rep. Holland chooses not to run again

ASHBURN - Rep. Ray Holland said Monday that he will not seek re-election to his seat in the Legislature this year. <br> <br> Holland, a Democrat first elected in 1988, cited reapportionment and the length of time legislators spend away from home as factors in his decision. <br> <br> He and his cousin, Rep. Austin Scott of Tifton, are residents of the same district under the new alignment going into effect with November elections. The district consists of portions of Worth, Turner and Tift counties. <br> <br> Holland said he did not make up his mind about not running until this weekend. He said he felt confident that he could be re-elected but ``the reapportionment results were still regrettable on a personal level by placing Rep. Scott into our district.&#39;&#39; <br> <br>
