Burns, Anderson winners of Miss Georgia preliminaries

COLUMBUS - Miss Historic Southern Plains, Joan-Marie Burns, and Miss Spirit of Georgia, Brooke Anderson, were winners Thursday night in the second round of preliminaries of Miss Georgia 2002. <br>

Burns, 23, a Georgia Southwestern State University graduate from Albany, won a $250 scholarship as winner of the lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit award. <br>
<br>
Capturing a $500 scholarship, Anderson, a 24-year-old University of Georgia graduate from Atlanta, was the winner of the artistic expression in talent award with a tap dance to ``I've Got Rhythm.'' <br>
<br>
Miss Georgia 2002 runs through Saturday at the new $70 million River Center for Performing Arts in Columbus.
