Cinema manager found guilty of robbery

MARIETTA - A former movie theater manager pleaded guilty Thursday to taking about $75,000 from an Alpharetta theater - the weekend of the ``Spiderman&#39;&#39; premiere. <br> <br> Michael Joseph Houser, 23, of Roswell, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a little more than eight years&#39; probation for the May 5 robbery at the United Artists North Point Market Cinemas. <br> <br> Police said Houser stole the money from the theater safe - much of it proceeds from ``Spiderman&#39;&#39; - and fled the state. <br> <br> Four days after his disappearance, his car surfaced in a parking lot in Brentwood, Tenn. He bought a truck in Tennessee before heading toward Canada, then bought a motorcycle in Indiana. <br> <br> U.S. Customs agents stopped him at the Canadian border, about 100 miles north of Seattle. Authorities also found $51,000, a new motorcycle and a handgun in his newly purchased pickup truck.
