Hundreds of butterflies let loose in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - Friends of the Parks and Green ways held its annual Butterfly release at Wilshire Trails in Gainesville Sunday.

President of the the organization Joe Biddy says more people turned out for the event than ever before.

"We had 600 butterflies, painted ladies and monarchs, that we released in the park," Biddy said.

Biddy says the organization plans to include all parks in the area in its programs and encourages more involvement from the general public.
