Former mayor of McRae, owner of three community newspapers, dies

SOPERTON - James T. Windsor, longtime owner and editor of three community newspapers in south Georgia has died. He was 77. <br>

Windsor was a four-term mayor of McRae shortly after World War Two. In 1971, he purchased The Soperton News, The Montgomery Monitor and The Wheeler County Eagle. He sold the newspapers to The Courier Herald Publishing Company in 1998. <br>

Vaughn Funeral Home in McRae is handling funeral arrangements. Windsor died at his home Saturday.
